Holly picks up Kej from the train station and immediately goes into her plea to save the envelope factory, the town, and Christmas! Kej has heard it all before, though she is quite charmed by the town’s Main Street, which is decked out in red envelopes of all shapes and sizes. She’s missed it, despite how much of a big city girl she really is - the charm is quite appealing… She’s also missed her bff Holly - she doesn’t have many friends in the big city - it’s a cutthroat industry there when you always have to watch your back. With those thoughts in mind she realizes just how difficult it would be to try and save the factory, and how much it might risk her own job and promotion to partner.
Suddenly Holly slams on the brakes and the girls lurch forward in the car - someone was crossing in the middle of the road. Startled, he looks up from the hood of the car and they realize they recognize him…
It’s Holly’s older brother (and Kej’s childhood crush) - walking back to the factory from his lunch! He immediately locks eyes with Kej, clearly he didn’t know Holly had reconnected with her. Holly honks loudly at him before pulling over so they can get out and chat.
It’s the son of the factory’s owner, out putting up “save the factory” flyers all over town. In his haste he dropped the flyers and they’re now all over the roads. Holly pulls the car over so they can help him pick everything up.
