Kej climbs the grand spiral staircase to the parlor with the big picture window and plops down on a fainting couch. She watches the sun set and big fat snowflakes decorate the treelined vista below.
Eventually she hears soft footsteps approach and she turns to see her father. He comes and sits next to her on the couch.
He asks her about what’s really going on, and she’s honest with both him and herself for the first time in a long time. She likes her big city life, but it’s also so lonely. She misses feeling home, feeling the love - and most shocking of all - she thinks she might be in love with Chad? How can that be?
He father chuckles, he’s not surprised at any of it.
He tells her to follow her heart - because wherever you find love it feels like Christmas.
She asks him if he just quoted The Muppet Christmas Carol. He shushes her and puts a hand to her lips before getting up to leave.
He turns back to her and reminds her - their annual Christmas party for everyone in town starts in an hour! And guess who will be attending? CHAD!
